CULTURE DESIGN METHOD
CDMx
Every cultural endeavour starts with a question…

CDMx designs experiences that connect art, education and contemporary culture through rigorous, thoughtful initiatives, executed to the highest professional standards.

With a methodology of our own, we build ideas.
We conceive, connect, shape and deliver
Our work unites curatorial thinking, cultural management and executive production.

Cultural Experiences for Teams
We develop team building and bonding activities for companies within a cultural framework, including
specialised tours · city tours · artists' studio visits · workshops · museum experiences
Areas of focus :
art history · viceregal art · 19th century, academic and muralist art · contemporary and modern art
pre-Columbian art · architecture and cultural heritage · folk and decorative arts
Independent Projects
We develop initiatives to participate in national and international open calls, creating curatorial projects with touring potential, exhibitions, research and publications.
Our method
With each project the process is adapted to fit the client's needs.
brief → research → concept development → pitch → adjustments → client approval → production → execution → assessment
We are Culture Design Method
CDMx is a Mexico City-based cultural projects studio founded by Gabriela Quero and Stephan Schreiber, two practitioners whose backgrounds converge in a shared commitment to rigorous, meaningful and beautifully executed cultural work.
Gabriela Quero Larrazábal
Gabriela is a cultural manager and curator with over two decades of experience developing and directing artistic and cultural projects in Venezuela and Mexico. Her work spans the full arc of a project – from conceptualisation and production through to institutional negotiation and the building of strategic alliances with public and private institutions, universities and international organisations, including UNESCO.
In Mexico her work has centred on the cultural and urban heritage of Mexico City, approached through a perspective that connects territory, memory and identity. This includes the organisation and direction of the international seminar "La ciudad y el paisaje urbano histórico" – held in 2021 to mark the 500th anniversary of the Calzada México-Tacuba – bringing together UNESCO, ICOM and universities from Spain, Italy, the United States and Mexico.
Her practice is defined by her ability to bring together artists, institutions, companies, communities and other agents to turn cultural ideas into concrete and sustainable projects.

Stephan Rémy Philip Schreiber
Stephan is a visual artist and designer. After many years in fashion, he moved into interior, furniture and textile design, ultimately arriving at quilted paintings as his defining practice. He has worked on a wide range of individual and commercial projects across Europe and South-East Asia.
Years in fashion – and in running his own label – instilled in him a discipline and rigour that underpins everything he does, alongside a versatility born of necessity: the ability to move fluidly between roles, acquire new skills quickly and hold many threads at once. It also deepened a material intelligence that goes beyond the visual – an instinctive understanding of quality, texture and craft that informs his work across every discipline.
His years designing residential and commercial interiors across Indonesia sharpened both his compositional eye and his capacity to coordinate complex productions – bringing together architects, craftspeople and makers of every kind around a single cohesive vision. Each project was approached thematically, with as much attention given to atmosphere and narrative as to functionality and pragmatism. A commitment to local sourcing, restoration and the reuse of materials ran throughout, giving each space its own layer of history and character.
His artistic practice as a textile artist adds another layer to this picture. Each quilted painting is entirely hand-made – a process that unfolds over months and demands an almost meditative patience with the small but necessary steps that make up the whole. Working at this scale and pace has deepened his trust in process, in the value of rigour over speed and in the quiet power of work that is made with care and intention.
